At Thermalworks HVAC Technologies Inc. (“Thermalworks,” “we,” or “us”), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of data we collect, the ways in which we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

What We Collect

Thermalworks collects data essential to the functionality and performance optimization of our services. This includes HVAC system data, which comprises mechanical performance metrics captured by the Vanguard HVAC Monitoring System. Additionally, we collect IP addresses and use cookies to analyze website traffic and improve user experience. Business contact information, including names, emails, and phone numbers, is gathered exclusively from HVAC contractors. When users submit inquiries through website forms, we securely store the provided details. Notably, we do not collect homeowner names or financial data through our Site.

How We Collect Data

Data is obtained through various means. When users voluntarily provide information via forms on our Site, we securely store the submitted details. We also utilize cookies to monitor website usage and user interactions, allowing us to refine our digital experience. To further analyze visitor behavior, we rely on third-party tools such as Google Analytics and HubSpot, which help us understand engagement patterns and optimize services accordingly.

How We Use Data

The data we collect serves multiple purposes, all aimed at improving the efficiency of HVAC systems. AI-driven monitoring and analytics allow us to enhance system performance, and in cases where faults or maintenance issues arise, we send alerts to ensure prompt resolution. We also use collected data to communicate with HVAC contractors through email, text, or phone. In the future, we may explore opportunities to monetize mechanical data, ensuring our technology continues to deliver value to our users.

Third-Party Sharing

To enhance our services, we collaborate with select third-party providers. Google Analytics is used to track website performance, while HubSpot CRM assists in managing our relationships with HVAC contractors. At present, we do not sell HVAC-related data; however, we reserve the right to do so in the future, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

Data Storage & Retention

All collected data is securely stored on AWS servers located in Canada. We retain data indefinitely unless required by Canadian law to delete it. This allows us to continuously improve our services and maintain historical records for analytical purposes.

User Control & Data Requests

Due to the technical nature of HVAC system data, users cannot delete or modify the collected mechanical performance data. However, HVAC contractors have the ability to update their business contact information through our internal systems, ensuring accuracy and relevance.

Cookies & Tracking

To enhance user experience, our Site utilizes cookies that support functionality and performance optimization. Users may opt out of non-essential cookies at any time, though this may impact certain website features.

Legal Compliance

Thermalworks adheres to all applicable data protection regulations, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) in Canada and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in the European Union. These compliance measures ensure that user data is handled securely and transparently.
